Lionheart WORKS is a vocational training program that provides individuals 18 and older with real work experiences while teaching basic employment skills. The program is designed to teach independence and communication while matching individual strengths with vocational settings that are selected based on individuals affinities, abilities, and work readiness.
Individuals entering the WORKS program begin with a discovery process to determine appropriate support and job options. Vocational instruction, social thinking, occupational therapeutic consultation and self-advocacy skill building, as related to the work environment, occur in the training center and at specific work sites.
Lionheart WORKS is currently open at our new site location in Crabapple. We have COVID-19 health protocols in place. Our program has rolling enrollment. Participants can be enrolled part time or full time in the program. The participants, family members, Lionheart WORKS staff, vocational counselors, and work site supervisors together form a team to encourage participants to attain their highest level of independence and strive for sustainable employment.
Our program assigns trained job coaches who are specifically matched to participants that will best utilize their work skills while developing natural supports on the job. If you are interested in becoming a Lionheart WORKS job coach, please contact our Job Coach Coordinator. We will reach back out to you as soon as possible.
