Lionheart Gardens is a vocational organic garden and experiential learning environment, where students learn about growing and eating healthy food, maintaining sustainable garden practices, recycling and composting and the science associated with farming. The Lionheart Gardens provides age appropriate, high-affect meaningful activities that are transformed into academic learning, vocational exploration and job skill development for future employment and independent living.
The Lionheart Gardens combines the efforts in the classroom with shared experiences in a farm/garden setting. The Lionheart Gardens, staffed by Lionheart teachers offers students opportunities to work and learn in a creative and stimulating environment where experiences are tailored to individual profiles and student’s interests. This learning environment creates work experiences to complement the academic program supported at The Lionheart School. The Lionheart Gardens meets the lifespan needs of individuals with developmental challenges in a unique and meaningful way.
